XI National Conference on e-Governance

The XI National Conference on e-Governance would be organised on February 7-8, 2008 at Chandigarh/Panchkula with the Government of Haryana serving as the host state.
The present theme for the conference is “Integrated Citizen Services – Issues & Challenges”. The main features of this conference would be the National Awards for e-Governance for 2007-08 that recognizes achievements and initiatives in the area of e-Governance, a compendium for 11th Conference on e-Governance and an exhibition showcasing the latest trends in IT.

Gujarat Declared Best e-Governed State

Gujarat bagged the award for the `Best e-governed State’ for 2006-07 at the 42nd Computer Society India(CSI) Convention, organised to recognise the best e-governance initiatives in the country, especially in the government sector. A total of 17 awards were presented.

Other highlights:

  1. Goa, Jharkhand, Kerala were declared as joint winners of the `Progressive e-Governed State’
  2. Department of Electricity of Lakshadweep, and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat were declared joint winners under the `Best e-governed Department’ category
  3. The Department of Education, Delhi, bagged the special jury award under the same category for its initiative in the admission, examination and management of teachers. Continue Reading »
